1. Scope and definitions
These terms are set by 悠藍微光有限公司 (Tax ID 62148730), the operator of Yuralume Cloud ("we" or "us"). They supplement the Terms of Service for submissions to the Character Plaza and for reward points. Anything these terms do not cover is governed by the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Hosted Cloud acceptable use policy.
- Character Plaza: the place inside the signed-in Yuralume Cloud app where players browse official characters and characters shared by other players, heart cards, follow creators, and bring characters home. There is no trading on the Character Plaza: cards cannot be bought or sold, bringing one home involves no payment to its creator, and there is no tipping.
- Card: what you publish to the Character Plaza from a character you created — its name, one-line introduction, cover and stage images, character settings, bundled scripts, and the categories, language, and original / fan-made label you choose.
- Creator: a player who publishes cards on the Character Plaza.
- Bring home: another player installing a card into their own account, which creates a copy of the character that belongs to them.
- Heart: a player saving a card to their favorites. What makes a heart an effective heart is set out in section 10.
- Reward points: the reward unit we grant to creators of original cards under these terms. Reward points and Lumes (closed-loop AI credits) are two different units.
The Character Plaza and reward points are currently offered only inside the signed-in Yuralume Cloud app. A self-hosted Yuralume does not offer plaza submissions, characters shared by other players, hearts, follows, or reward points; a character created on a self-hosted setup has to be imported into a Yuralume Cloud account before it can be published from Cloud.
2. Who can submit
- Any player with a Yuralume Cloud account can submit, whether on the free tier, a trial, or a paid plan. When a plan ends, cards already listed stay listed, and hearts and reward points keep being recorded.
- You set a creator nickname before you publish for the first time (see section 13).
- You can only publish characters you created yourself. Characters brought home from the Character Plaza, from official characters, or from licensed collaborations — and the scripts bundled with such cards — cannot be published to the Character Plaza again.
- There are limits on how many submissions can wait for review at once and how many you can make each day, as shown on the publish screen.
- A person with limited legal capacity needs their legal representative's consent before submitting.
3. What you confirm when you publish
Each time you publish a card (including a new version), you confirm to us that:
- The "original" or "fan-made" label you choose is true. Original means you created both the character and their world yourself; a card based on a character or world from an existing work is fan-made, and you must give the title of the work and the character's name in it accurately.
- The card is not a real person — not a celebrity, public figure, influencer, or private individual. A card based on a VTuber's character persona is fan-made, and may not touch on the real identity of the person behind it.
- You have the right to share everything in the card, and it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, portrait, privacy, or other rights. Its text and images contain no one else's personal data (for example a real house number, phone number, or photo).
- The card has no adult content and follows the Hosted Cloud acceptable use policy; Hosted Cloud does not offer NSFW (see section 6 of the Terms of Service).
- You will not publish a card someone else exported, or someone else's work, as your own original.
If a confirmation is untrue or you break one of the points above, we may act under section 8, and you are responsible under the law for any loss this causes us or anyone else.
4. The rights you grant us and other players
Copyright in your card stays with you or the original rights holder; we do not become the owner of your card because you submitted it. By publishing a card, you grant the following non-exclusive, royalty-free permissions:
- To us: while the card is listed, to reproduce, make available, and display it as far as running the Character Plaza requires — including review, thumbnails and previews, categorizing and ranking, featuring and recommending, and translating the card's name and one-line introduction into other languages for display. Once the card leaves the Character Plaza, the records we keep to handle reports, disputes, or legal obligations are not affected.
- To other players: players signed in to Yuralume Cloud may browse the card, bring the character home, interact with that character in their own account, and freely change the copy they brought home.
- Characters already brought home: bringing a card home copies it into that player's account. If you later withdraw or update the card, or it is taken down, the characters other players have already brought home are not affected, and the permission for those copies does not end.
Exporting: a card cannot be exported unless you allow it. You can allow it when you publish; players who bring the character home while it is allowed can export it as a file and use it outside Yuralume Cloud (for example on a self-hosted Yuralume). Turning it off later only affects players who bring the character home afterwards. We cannot recall files that have already been exported outside the service.
5. Review and listing
- The Character Plaza reviews before it lists: a card, and every new version of it, goes up only after it passes review.
- We may use automated tools (including AI models) to help with a first check of a card's text and images; whether it is listed is decided by our staff. In future we may adjust how cards from creators with a good track record are reviewed, but listed cards remain subject to reports and to section 8.
- A review can approve the card, send it back (with the reason and how to fix it, shown in My creations), or approve it after the reviewer corrects the original / fan-made label or the source details. When a card is corrected to fan-made, later versions keep that correction.
- Review has no fixed timetable. Passing review only means the card meets the listing conditions; it is not our guarantee that the card infringes no one's rights.
- We decide how the Character Plaza is ordered and what is shown, including official characters pinned to the top, popular, rising this week, newest, and featured. We do not guarantee any card a level of exposure or ranking.
6. New versions and withdrawing a card
- Publishing takes a snapshot of the character's settings at that moment. However you change your character afterwards, the listed version is not affected.
- To update what is listed, publish a new version. It is reviewed again; meanwhile the current version stays listed, and the new one replaces it once approved. Characters already brought home are not updated automatically.
- You can withdraw your own card at any time. The card leaves the Character Plaza, any new version in review is cancelled, and characters other players have already brought home are not affected. Withdrawing is not a penalty. Any reward points you have already received are not clawed back because of it. To list the card again, publish a new version and have it approved.
- A card taken down for breaking the rules cannot take a new version.
7. Reports
- Signed-in players can report a card or a creator and choose a reason, such as adult content, a real person, leaked personal data, unlawful or hateful content, copyright infringement, or spam and advertising. Each account can send a limited number of reports per day.
- Only our staff can see who made a report; the creator reported is not told.
- We handle reports on the evidence, under these terms and the acceptable use policy, and we decide whether a report is upheld.
8. Enforcement and takedowns
- If a card breaks these terms, the Terms of Service, or the acceptable use policy, we may send it back or take it down, or restrict your submissions; for serious or repeated breaches, we act on your account under the acceptable use policy.
- When a card is taken down, the reason and explanation are shown in My creations. A card that has been taken down can no longer be brought home from the Character Plaza. Characters other players have already brought home are not affected by the takedown, except where the law requires content to be dealt with, which follows the acceptable use policy.
- Reward points from a card that has been taken down are clawed back under section 12.
- If you question a decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed through our support and complaint channels; the review, and what happens if we got it wrong, follow section 4 of the acceptable use policy.
9. Notices from rights holders, and the reach of fan-made cards
If you believe a card infringes your copyright or other rights, email our support address (danny@yuralume.com) with proof of your rights, the card and creator nickname concerned, a description of the infringement, and how to reach you. Once we receive a notice from a rights holder, we take the card concerned down and let the creator know. A creator who believes the notice is mistaken can explain why, with supporting evidence, through our support address, and we handle it case by case.
When an officially licensed version of a character from a work is offered on Yuralume (for example through an official collaboration), we may pin the licensed character to the top and reduce the reach and ranking of fan-made cards based on the same work.
10. Earning reward points
- Milestones: each time an original card's effective hearts reach a milestone, we grant the reward points set for that milestone, once per milestone per card. The milestones are as shown in My creations, and the reward points for each are as we announce.
- Theme calls: an original card selected in a theme call we run can receive the selection reward points we announce. We decide which cards are selected.
- Fan-made cards do not earn reward points: neither milestones nor theme-call selection grant them. A fan-made card selected in a theme call is featured on the Character Plaza only.
- Effective hearts: a heart counts as effective only if all of the following hold. It was not given by you. The account that gave it has existed for a minimum period and has not been deleted. The player who gave it has actually spent a minimum amount of Lumes on that card's character. We set and may adjust these thresholds, and to discourage gaming them we do not necessarily publish the exact figures. A heart that has been removed does not count.
- Reward points are a fixed reward we grant for milestones or theme-call selection; they are not a revenue share, and they are not calculated as a proportion of what other players pay or spend.
- Inflating hearts with multiple accounts, by agreeing to heart each other's cards, or by any other improper means breaks these terms.
Monthly budget and queueing: the total reward points we grant each month is capped by a budget (by calendar month, Taiwan time). When a month's budget runs out, later grants queue in the order they arose and are credited in turn in later months or when the budget is adjusted; we do not guarantee when they will be credited. We may also pause granting; grants during a pause are recorded and credited in turn once granting resumes, still within the monthly budget. Queued or paused reward points have not been credited yet and cannot be exchanged.
11. Exchanging reward points: what they are and their limits
Reward points have no cash value and can currently be exchanged only for Lumes. We reserve the right to change what they can be exchanged for.
- In My creations you can exchange credited reward points for Lumes (closed-loop AI credits). The exchange ratio, the minimum number of reward points per exchange, and how long the resulting Lumes stay valid are as shown on the exchange screen; validity runs from the moment of the exchange. We may pause exchanges.
- Lumes from an exchange are gifted Lumes, credited to your own account, and governed by what section 4 of the Terms of Service says about Lumes and gifted balance. Once an exchange is complete it cannot be refunded or turned back into reward points.
- Reward points can only be granted by us: they cannot be bought, cannot be transferred or given to anyone else, cannot be obtained by exchanging Lumes, and cannot be merged with another account.
- Reward points belong to your account; only you can see and exchange them.
- Reward points themselves do not expire, except where they are clawed back or forfeited as described in section 12.
12. Clawback and forfeiture of reward points
- If a card is taken down for breaking the rules, we take back the reward points earned through that card. Any not yet credited (queued or paused) are cancelled. For those already credited, we deduct up to the total earned through that card from your unexchanged balance at that time; a clawback never takes your balance below zero. Lumes you have already exchanged are not taken back.
- After a takedown, that card earns no further reward points.
- If you delete your account, your unexchanged reward points — including any queued or paused and not yet credited — are forfeited, and are not converted into Lumes or compensated in any other way (see section 14).
13. Your creator nickname and what is public
- Before you publish for the first time, you set a creator nickname. Nicknames are unique across the site and are not taken from your sign-in account's name. You can change yours, with a cooldown between changes as shown on screen. Once you change it, someone else may take your old nickname straight away.
- A nickname may not impersonate us, an official account, or anyone else, or contain anything the acceptable use policy prohibits; some words are reserved and cannot be used.
- The following is shown to other players signed in to Yuralume Cloud: your creator nickname, your creator page avatar (which can only be the cover of one of your own listed cards), your listed cards and their content, how many cards you have listed, and how many hearts and followers you have. The hearts and follows you give are not shown to other players under your name.
- How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
14. Deleting your account
When you delete your Yuralume Cloud account:
- all your cards leave the Character Plaza, and any version in review is cancelled;
- your creator page becomes anonymous, your nickname and avatar are cleared, and your nickname becomes available to others; everyone following you stops following you;
- your unexchanged reward points are forfeited under section 12;
- characters other players have already brought home are copies in their accounts and are not affected.
Review, report, and enforcement records are kept under the dispute-handling and legal-obligation exceptions in the Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms, and versions
- The version of these terms is shown at the top of this page. When you publish a card, you confirm the version current at that time; after these terms are updated, you confirm the new version before you next publish.
- Operating values — milestones, the reward points for each milestone, the monthly budget, the exchange ratio, how long exchanged Lumes stay valid, submission limits, and the like — may be adjusted as operations require, and the adjusted values shown on screen or announced apply. Exchanges already completed are not affected.
- Changes that materially harm creators' rights are announced and notified in advance in the way described in section 8 of the Terms of Service.
